Vic’s Espresso/Peerless 2009 Rider Photo and Profile Lawrence Bosch DOB: August 22, 1945 Years Racing: 25 Hometown: Waverly, Colorado Occupation: GM of International at Celestial Seasonings Nickname: Lars If we are going to start out with accomplishments first for any rider on the Vic’s team, it should be so with Lars. Lars has achieved National Masters Criterium Champion (2), National Masters Track Champion (5), Colorado State Masters Road & Crit Champion (13), and World Masters Pursuit 4th. Lars’s racing history began in 1978 at The Red Zinger Bicycle Classic, which inspired him to begin road racing. You can catch Lars riding “any Velodrome” as he reports, or on his favorite local ride, the La Cache Poudre Canyon (SR14) to Ted’s Place to Rustic. Lars is an interesting guy; If he weren’t racing, he says he would be “speed skating & Trail Motor Cross on a KTM.” His other interests include building his passive solar home, restoring his vintage '82 FJ 40 Land Cruiser, and completing machine shop work for his son's tool business. For a man that is employed by a hot tea company, it is interesting that he prefers his Vic’s coffee iced. We will all gladly accept a tip from a national champion and Lars’s tip for indoor training is to utilize “music, videos, rollers and trainer & leg press; limit to 1 hour.” Lars also favors the Oxygen Uptake Supplementation Training at the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. In 1984 Lars was one of the four founding members of the Boulder Masters Cycling Team; he has raced with his friends and teammates for years. Let’s not forget to mention his favorite Specialized product, BG Pro Road Shoes, developed by his long-time friend Andy Pruitt, or his choice for superhero for a week: The Silver Surfer.
