Vic’s Espresso/Peerless 2009 Rider Photo and Profile Joe Paulson DOB: November 16,1960 Years Racing: 30 Hometown: Boulder, CO Occupation: Transportation Engineer Nickname: none I want to encourage Joe is another local rider inspired by watching the local Red Zinger Bicycle Classic back in the day. Joe has gone on to win a pair of Colorado State Criterium Championships, 8th at 2008 National Criterium Championships, and 2007 Colorado Best All-Around Rider. No doubt Joe’s life would have been different if he had never become a bike racer. He said he would be “a lot richer and a lot fatter.” Today he enjoys riding his Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL2 up Flagstaff Mountain and uses Tour de France videos for the eyes and U2 for the ears to train when the weather keeps him in indoors. Joe claims that Barack Obama is his superhero. He said, “Hey, he's MY super hero!” Joe has his Vic’s Espresso order down; when he walks in he is quick to order a double skinny mocha, no whip, in a big glass for here please.
