Annette Kissinger

DOB: September, 29, 1962
Years Racing: runner and triathlete
Hometown: East Greenbush, NY (near Albany)
Occupation: Mother, Yoga Instructor, Volunteer Ski Instructor

Annette, along with her husband and two daughters, recently moved from Ramsey, NJ to Boulder, CO. Annette was happy to join the Vic’s/Peerless Cycling Team shortly upon arrival in town. Annette’s new team sponsored Specialized Women’s Specific Ruby road bike has inspired her to discover her favorite local road rides, including 1) North Boulder to Lyons and the Fruit Loops, 2) Left Hand Canyon to Jamestown and 3) the creek paths. Annette has also enjoyed discovering the local mountains and trail runs.

After racing mid-distance running events and sprint distance triathlons for years, Annette started cycling because, as she said, “My hips and knees started aching from running and I needed to find a new activity that was easier on the joints!” An outdoor winter athlete, Annette said that she doesn’t have an indoor training bike and never rides the stationery bike at the gym. She said, “If the weather says "indoors," I'm doing yoga.” Annette also volunteers as a ski instructor for the blind and special needs for ESRP at Eldora, the local ski area west of Boulder, CO.

Other volunteer activities include teaching yoga to children in the Boulder public schools and working with Blue Sky Bridge to help children who are victims of child abuse in Boulder County. Granted much natural energy, Annette said, “More than a shot of caffeine and you'll have to peel me off the ceiling;” best to make hers a Schizo latte at Vic’s Espresso.

Having worked in the international hotel business for 20 years, Annette has lived and traveled abroad. If Annette wasn’t so busy these days, she said she would be, “touring the world, appreciating different cultures, speaking other languages and eating/drinking the bounty that each country provides.” Her other interests include cooking, gardening, yoga, hiking, taking dogs from the shelter out on trail runs, reading, shuttling kids to/fro, and entertaining.
