Alden realized he wanted to race bikes when he beat his Dad riding over Old Stage Rd one day. Old Stage is now part of his favorite ride in the Boulder area. He enjoys riding Highway 36 to Lefthand Canyon, up to Jamestown, back down, and then over Old Stage Road into Boulder.
Alden races in Junior 17-18, and in 2009 moved into Cat 3, racing road races, time trials, and criteriums. Alden was recently 2nd in JM 17-18 at the Lookout Mountain Hill Climb in Golden, Co in 2009. Alden said he, “dreams of becoming King of the Mountains in the Tour de France.”
In 2008, Alden won the North Boulder Park Crit JRS 15-18 and the Rabbit Mountain Time Trial Race JM 15-16.
Alden’s favorite bike is his Specialized Transition Pro Time Trial bike. His favorite drink at Vic’s Espresso is the Grande Chai, “for sure”. Alden likes to listen to pump-up music while training (rap, dance, techno).
Besides bike racing, the other sports he is interested in include playing Ultimate Frisbee, downhill skiing, nordic skiing, and soccer. He is also interested in cycling jersey design, bike paint design, graphic design, advertising, videography, video editing, and photography.
